We originally lived in Melbourne were we had Labrador retrievers. We then moved on to Miniature and Standard Dachshund which we had for many years. We were one of the first to breed the Silver Dapple range of long coated Dachshunds with the Brells of NSW.

We after many years moved to Canberra were we had a business and also had a reasonable sized hobby farm. We were still involved in the dogs and then we changed from the Miniature Dachshunds to Poodles both Miniature andToy.

We were very successful with the Poodles in the show ring. I also showed the little German Spitz Mittel. I had a really nice dog called Aust Ch. Atetak Thunder Down Under (Thunder) who originally came from Attack Kennels at Aberdare near Cessnock NSW.

Because we were in such cold climate in Canberra Thunder had the most magnificent coat I have ever seen. He won many royal Best of Breeds as well as many in Group/runner up Group awards. I went on to title 3 more German Spitz Mittel's before we decided to concentrate with the Poodles.

We had great mentors in Kevin and Narelle Podmore from Wagga Wagga, we showed in that general area and either they or we got best in group on a lot of the shows we attended. Kevin and Narelle have been our close friends now for over 25 years.

Narelle taught both Yenice and I the fine art of grooming and preparing a Poodle for the show ring. They are also very successful in Greyhound racing and I loved going to the races with them seeing their dogs win many special races.

We also travelled to most Royal shows and we were lucky enough with Ch Yendale Royce’s Jurne and also Ch Yendale Royce’s Martina to win B.O.B. at a lot of Royal shows.

Both of our Toy Poodles were very successful at speciality Poodle shows and one year Narelle won best in show with her Miniature and we were runner up with our toy. We had two others entered in different classes and they also won classes in show.

Then unfortunately I got very sick with Cancer. I was at the time studying for non sporting license as well as doing obedience license and was also on the Board of Directors for several years with the Australian Capital Territory Canine Council. In the end I resigned from all commitments as my health was so bad.

Yenice and I moved to Lake Macquarie so as I could recover from my illness. It took nearly 10 years and now we are up to date showing Bichon Frisé as well as Havanese. We have made up several Champions since then and hope for many more.

Some of our breeding has been made up as well which we are very happy about.

When we started out with the Havanese we were very fortunate to meet Philip and Jenny Williams, (Hashki Havanese) we struck up an instant friendship. So we bought Sandi and they lent Chester to us to show so we could gain experience in showing an adult Havanese.

Unfortunately the sickness still continues as Yenice has been in and out of hospital with very serious heart problems since April. Many heart attacks some near fatal, serious damage to other organs, it’s been a full hands on job for me looking after her and also our dogs. So shows were again put on the back burner. She is getting better slowly to the stage where I feel I can sneak out to local shows and with some luck she may come with me.

I am looking to show a really sweet pup we bred from Aust. Ch. Yendale Shannon’s Paris, her name is Jodie.

Plus we hope to have a nice Parti colour Havanese from the matings we did with one of Philips and Jenny’s males to Aust Ch. Hashki Quick Sand. This Havanese litter is due to show around early January.

“STOP PRESS” this litter is born and is on the web site on page current pups.

I want to say a really big thank you to Philip and Jenny for helping us out, giving us lessons on the breed, giving me the pleasure of showing "Chester" as he is such a lovely dog and while I campaigned him we did do a lot of winning with him. Then of course letting us purchase Sandi our foundation bitch for Yendale Havanese.
